Hundreds attended a Friday night show and lighting of a 115-foot white fir Christmas tree at Fashion Island in Newport Beach.

The Fashion Island tree is taller than the 96-foot white fir Christmas tree at South Coast Plaza in Costa Mesa. However, the one at South Coast Plaza arrived on Oct. 25, which was earlier than the Nov. 1 arrival of the Fashion Island tree.
