Updated 6/11 at 9:50 a.m. with revised tenant opening dates, more tenant info and some freebies, deals and events for the grand-opening weekend.
Nineteen businesses plan to open at Anaheim GardenWalk shopping center this Saturday at about 10 a.m. for the grand opening at the outdoor mall with fountains and lush lanscaping.
Another 19 businesses are scheduled to open this summer at GardenWalk, the newest shopping center in O.C. These opening dates may change.
Currently, six restaurants (Cheesecake Factory, Bubba Gump Shrimp Co., P.F. Chang’s, Roy’s, California Pizza Kitchen and McCormick & Schmick’s Grille) and four retailers (Ann Taylor Loft, Skechers, Hollister and The Body Shop) are open at the Anaheim center that welcomed its first tenant late last year.
Businesses that plan to open this Saturday: 24-Hour Fitness, Auntie Anne’s, Aveda Salon & Spa (2nd O.C. location, other one in Fullerton), Cinnabon, Fragrance Center, Fresh Produce (beachwear), Gstage (teen and women’s clothing, similar to Forever 21, 2nd O.C. location, other one at The District at Tustin Legacy), Great Steak & Potato Company, Harley Davidson, Kay Jewelers, Madison & Co. Fine Jewelers, Marble Slab Creamery, Red Apparel, Retrospect (men’s and women’s clothing), Robeks, Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory, Runway 5 (high-end women’s and men’s clothing, 1st O.C. location, owner’s sister owns Madison Bleu at Bella Terra), San Sai Japanese Grill and Sunglass Hut.
Businesses that are scheduled to open this summer: Bar Louie, Chico’s, Cinemafusion Theaters, Georgiou (women’s clothing), Hawaiian BBQ, Heat Ultra Lounge (nightclub), Johnny Rockets, La Salsa, Momotree, O’Neill, Rami, Pop the Cork Wine Bar, Sbarro, Submarina, Tacone Flavor Grill, Tommy Bahama, V Generation, White House/Black Market and 300 Anaheim (upscale bowling center.)
The 14-screen Cinemafusion with an Imax screen is owned by Movie Experience which brought Anaheim Hills Cinemapolis that shuttered in 2000. Cinemafusion has received approval from the city to serve alcohol in the theater, said Bruce Sanborn, president of Movie Experience. However, it’s waiting to find out whether the state will grant its request to serve liquor.
Even without the alcohol license, Sanborn still plans to have about six theaters that will require viewers be older than a certain age. These viewers will pay a premium that has yet to be determined. Do you think the theater should serve alcohol? Take a poll by CLICKING HERE.
At 440,000 square feet, GardenWalk is roughly half the size of The District at Tustin Legacy, which opened last year. But it’s larger than Downtown Disney, which sits just minutes away.
