I walked through GardenWalk twice this week, and it was dead and deader on both visits. Totally DEAD! I went into the 300 bowling place and I was the only one there at 9:00 o’clock at night! YIKES!

And they call this place GardenWalk with a straight face? It’s a cement canyon full of closed retail spaces with hardly any plants or green anywhere. Bizarre name for the place!

The GardenWalk restaurants on Katella were half full, but the entire mall was just dead. And Lucille Kring’s wine shop on the top level was totally empty, except for Ms. Kring herself hanging out at the counter staring out at the empty mall. It’s her payback for ganging up with Lorri Galloway and opposing Disney in the SunCal battle last year.

I also walked through Downtown Disney twice this week, and that place was hopping! Lots of tourists packing the Downtown Disney stores spending cash, and the restaurants all had lines out the door.

It’s amazing how two malls just a couple blocks away can be so different. GardenWalk is like a morgue, and Downtown Disney is still where the action is.

I agree on the lack of people but the Green you refer to will grow in over time. Look closely and you will see the seeds and stuff that should sprout soon.
