Steve & Barry’s, the discount clothing retailer, is closing its Buena Park Downtown store, according to info provided by spokeswoman Rachel Brenner.
The store-closing sale is currently underway. There’s no closing date yet for the store. The Buena Park store spans roughly 45,000 square feet.
Steve & Barry’s only other O.C. store is at The Block at Orange, which will remain open.
The retailer was recently purchased out of bankruptcy by BH S&B Holdings, a newly formed affiliate of investment firms Bay Harbour Management and York Capital Management.
To better position Steve & Barry’s to reach its profitability goals, BH S&B Holdings is going to run the chain as a smaller base of stores of about 170 stores vs. the 276 stores it had before it filed for bankruptcy.
