A slew of businesses plan to soon open at the 114,000-square-foot Asian-themed center in Irvine called Diamond Jamboree.
Already, Chae Bahn, a Korean restaurant, and Shinhan Bank America, are open at the two-story center at the corner of Jamboree Road and Alton Parkway. Chae Bahn’s menu includes dishes like beef, vegetables and rice in a hot stone bowl for $11.25. It’s the owner’s first restaurant.
Unless otherwise specified, planned opening dates below, which may change, were provided by Alethea Hsu, president of Diamond Jamboree Ltd.
Tenants that plan to open by Sept. 27:
- H-Mart Supermarket — a 25,000-square-foot grocery chain to open its first location in O.C. On its Web site, it says its products include spaghetti, tortillas, kimchi and fermented bean paste.
- Aura Nail Spa — a nail salon that also provides massages and threading, where eyebrow hairs, for example, are plucked by thread.
- Palace Beauty Supplies — a beauty supply store
- Campus Video and Mail Center — a video store that also rents out mailboxes
- Guppy Tea House Cafe — the chain, which also has a location in Anaheim, sells a small hot Boba green milk tea for $2.99 and a small hot coconut milk tea for $3.50.
- BCD Tofu House — The small 12-year-old Korean chain sells hot tofu soups as well as BBQ ribs and spicy pickled crab. Its Los Angeles and Garden Grove locations are open 24 hours. The Irvine location hopes to open 24 hours as well.

It’s popular in Japan where it originated and has spread to Korea and Taiwan, said owner Paul Kim. From opening until Dec. 31, all customers get a free key chain.

This should keep the Orange County Health Inspectors busy.
I have been waiting for china town to move closer so I can buy more baby turtles and fire crackers
Finally, something other than typical Irvine cookie-cutter whitebread chain restaurants and overpriced bland specialty places.
Long lines at Capital for dim sum if their other locations are any indication.
