Neiman Marcus is selling a dream wedding at The Resort at Pelican Hill.
The price starts at $1.3 million.
The wedding package is among the extravagant gifts in the 2008 Neiman Marcus Christmas catalog released Tuesday.
Neiman Marcus describes what you get …
There is a rare opportunity to make nuptials the stuff of family legends, with our exclusive turnkey luxury wedding experience at The Resort at Pelican Hill. The ultimate resort setting on the breathtaking coast of Newport Beach.
A personal engagement coach to take care of every detail, a couture wedding gown and bridesmaid dresses custom designed by Carolina Herrera, up to 40 private ocean-view guest villas and every detail exquisitely executed from the magical cake to the perfect flowers to the private celebrity entertainment at the reception.
Our experience also includes resort events for the bridal party, a rehearsal dinner event, an after-reception party, and gourmet breakfast the next day for family and guests.
First published in 1926, the Neiman Marcus book was initially intended as a Christmas card to the store’s best customers. It has since evolved into a source for fantasy gifts.
This year’s gifts also include a limited-edition BMW, life-size his and hers LEGO sculptures and Jack Nicklaus golf course design. To read about other gifts, CLICK HERE.
Even luxury customers, typically resilient during more moderate economic downturns, have felt the pressure of Wall Street’s woes as markets tumble and their portfolios shrink, according to Reuters.
“In the midst of all this dark and dreary news that’s got us all so sad and down, I’d like to think that somebody could open this book up and smile … ” Ginger Reeder, spokeswoman for Neiman Marcus Direct, told Reuters.
“I mean they’re fantasies. We’re not saying: ‘You’ve got to rush out and have yourself made in Legos.’ It’s like, wouldn’t that be fun?”

Does it include a husband?
That is nuts. I know a couple who went through a drive thru wedding chapel in Lake Tahoe for really cheap. I think they were more excited that they got a free burger and fries too. They are still together after 25 yrs.
Does it include the legal fees on a prenuptial agreement?

I used to live up on that hill with my grandparents. My grandfather was in charge of the reservoir, for the Metropolitan Water District.
MWD had 4 little modest houses up there for key employees.
I saw that “breath-taking” view for years. We had deer and bob-cats along with some wild-domestic cats, and rattle snakes.
I hated living up there because there was nothing to do.
My grandfather retired, they tore down the houses and built mansions. Now its a Million Dollar View. Ha ha ha ha ha ha
I got to at least live there for free for 8 years.
The people who make way too much money, waste it on frivilous things. Sorry, but rich people make me sick to my stomach!
