Piano City is going out of business and closing its remaining O.C. store in Mission Viejo, said spokesman Dan Lynn.
The Colton-based, 21-year-old retailer once had four stores. Last year the Colton-based retailer closed its Stanton store. It has also closed its West Covina store and will close its Colton store.
The retailer does not yet have closing dates for the remaining two stores. That date will depend on how fast it can liquidate the merchandise. The Mission Viejo store is at 27525 Puerta Real, near Sports Chalet.
Pianos are discounted up to 65 percent and there’s no sales tax on select pianos.
Lynn attributed the closings to the tough economy. ”No one’s buying pianos,” he said.
Piano City offers new and used production-line and hand-made pianos from America, Asia and Europe, according to its Web site.
