New mall near O.C. getting Trader Joe’s, Pinkberry, H&M & more
April 28th, 2008, 12:01 am by Hang Nguyen, retail reporterTrader Joe’s, Pinkberry and H&M are among about 65 retailers coming to The Shoppes at Chino Hills, set to open in late May.
The majority of the retailers and restaurants will open at the outdoor shopping center on Friday, May 23 at around 10 a.m. The center, at Grand Avenue and Peyton Drive just west of the Chino Valley (71) West Freeway, is 91 percent leased.
At 400,000 square feet, it’s similar in size to Anaheim GardenWalk, which is scheduling its grand opening for June 14 also for late May.
The Shoppes, with shaded seating areas and fountains, will be surrounded by 240 units of luxury housing, 50,000 square feet of office space built over the retail, a new civic center, a community library and police station. The shopping center’s developer is Opus West, which has an office in Irvine.

Jill, Jade Aveda Lifestyle SalonSpa, Jared Jewelers, Jos A. Bank, Jeanomix, Lane Bryant/Cacique, LensCrafters, Limited Too, Lululemon Athletica, Mint
Footwear, Momotree, New York & Company, PacSun, Rebel, Reflection Shoes, Red Persimmon Nails & Spa, Sanrio, Sunglass Hut, Solstice Sunglass Boutique, Vans, Victoria’s Secret, The Walking Company and White House/Black Market.
Restaurants and other food businesses that have signed leases at The Shoppes are California Pizza Kitchen, Chipotle, Haagen Dazs, Johnny Rockets, Pacific Fish Grill, Panera Bread, Peet’s Coffee & Tea, PF Chang’s China Bistro, Ra Sushi Bar Restaurant, Surf City Squeeze, Tequila Sam’s Restaurant & Cantina, Wetzel’s Pretzels, Wood Ranch BBQ and Yard House Bar & Grill.
